Sunday, April 15 and Sunday, April 29 at 11 a.m. Youth/Adult Confirmation classes
Sunday, April 22 – Quarterly congregational meeting 11 a.m.
The focus of this curriculum has continually been less about what we believe and more about how do we want to live. Beliefs take time and experience to coalesce; meanwhile, how will we live in this world and is Church, specifically the New Ark, a community that we want to be a part of as we figure that out?
Our concluding class schedule: Sunday, April 15: Sacraments Sunday, April 29: Priesthood of All Believers Sunday, May 6: Where Do You Stand? Date TBA: Planning Confirmation Sunday May 20: Confirmation and Pentecost Sunday June 3: Celebration Sunday
Adults are welcome to attend the April 15 and 29 classes. The youth will meet with the pastor on Sunday, May 6. Adults are invited to gather around that question on their own if they wish.
During this month we will concentrate on contributions for go-bags to be distributed to folks in need at the Newark Empowerment Center. We will combine the elements to complete as many bags as possible on Sunday, April 29. Contributions are always welcome and include the following items: napkin and plastic spoon, a protein item, a granola bar, crackers with cheese or peanut butter, fruit, and a beverage. Keep this in mind as you grocery shop in the coming weeks.
As you clean your closets this spring, consider donating gently used clothing to the Clothing Bank of Delaware. The Clothing Bank distributes to various shelters and other organizations plus providing employment for women who are re-entering the work force.
On Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. you can volunteer to help at the Clothing Bank of Delaware. Tasks involved will likely be sorting donations and possibly filling some orders. A signup sheet is available on Sundays in Wells Hall.
