What to Expect at the New Ark

WHAT TO EXPECT IN SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP

Sunday worship at the New Ark begins at 9:30am. The services last approximately one hour. When you arrive, someone will greet you, help you find a seat and answer your questions. If you have children, you will be introduced to our child care staff and Sunday school teachers, if you wish.

On the first Sunday of each month, Communion (The Eucharist) is celebrated. Communion is served by intinction: worshipers, including children, come forward, tear a piece of bread and dip it in the chalice or cup. We offer both grape juice and wine. We have an open table - no matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

The New Ark is not a particularly formal church - there is no Sunday dress code. Just dress comfortably but respectfully.

IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN

Children are a vital part of our church family, participating in worship, music, education, missions and recreation. Programs are designed in order to help children experience God's love and how to serve God through learning, leading, and helping others.

Children of all ages are welcome! Your children will learn enduring values preparing them to live as loving and capable people in God's world.

On Sunday mornings, Kinderkirk with trained staff is available to infants and toddlers. All children begin in worship where the pastor shares a special message just for them early on in the service. Then, all children 2nd grade and under head off to Kinderkirk. Children 3rd grade and older sit with their parents in worship. After service, everyone can enjoy a time of fellowship and connection with snacks and beverages. Then at 11am we have Christian Education opportunities for all ages.

We want you to feel welcome but not overwhelmed. Ask questions. Check out our website, Facebook page, or our pastor's blog.
